78AMost performance wheels place the harder urethane pours on the inside of the wheel, with a softer urethane on the outer pour. Rink Rat wheels utilize a patented Mtech multi layer system that turns this theory inside out. This wheel uses a soft, inner layer, surrounded by a tough, outer tread. The inner layer has a higher rebound which generates a dynamic, ''superball'' effect. This combination is not available in any other wheel. It delivers super grip, sizzling speed and an incredibly smooth ice-like feel that stops you cold. SpeedThe soft inner layer smoothes out the ride of the wheel (much like air inside a bicycle tire), but the biggest effect comes in the fact that the rebound on the Hot Shot is incredible! More of the energy you put into the wheel rebounds out into your forward momentum allowing you higher speed when skating a straight line and more bounce out of the turns. GripBetter grip on a wheel is highly dependent upon the size of the ''contact patch''. The contact patch is the size of the area in which the wheel is touching the playing surface. A bigger contact patch means more grip. The soft inner layer of the Rink Rat wheel flexes as you turn, absorbing lateral forces and automatically expanding the contact patch giving you better grip. The result is maximum traction that gives you superior control in the tightest turns. The Hotshot uses a simpler dual pour design than the Hornet. A soft (62a) inner pour (the red rectangular part of the cross section) compares with the triple pour design of the Hornet. This produces a slightly less responsive wheels than you get with the Hornet, but at a much lower price
